Eleadora finds herself transported to another dimension after an accidental blood pact with an ancient forgotten God. All she wants to do is go home, but she has to survive the horrors of the endless swamp outside and her new monstrous roommates first.
She’s welcomed by the ever-grumpy Eris, the zealous right-hand to the God Nyarbalte. They seem uninterested in doing anything more than keeping her fed and out of direct harm. As she starts to accept that she’s trapped there she meets others who have met a similar fate.
Seta who seems helpful, a little too helpful… Tristin who saves her and immediately lies about who- or what he is. Karon, a dangerous and seductive unicorn who is anything but pure. And finally Brenton, the reclusive dragon who spends all his time in his tower among his hoard of junk.
She must rely on at least one of them if she’s ever going to make it out of the Myyr alive, and remain human. But, who can she trust?
The game features a personality system that can have big consequences for your actions. If Ellie goes into any 1 extreme she will start to change, and this can even lead to a unique ending if pushed too far.
The four opposing personality traits are: selfish vs selfless and wild vs tame. Ellie must balance these opposing forces in order to maintain her humanity.
Ellie will have partial mutations that will be a warning to the player (and Ellie!) that something might go wrong if she continues down her current path. Each mutation is inspired by creatures of folklore.
Blerdy – “As far as heroines go, I really like Ellie, she isn’t overly naive like you see in some otome games, nor is she overly aggressive—she strikes a nice balance. She can be assertive and confident, while also being vulnerable, the events of the game aren’t just happening to her, rather she is an active participant. “
VN Game Den – “Where I think I had the most fun playing In Blood was in direct interactions with the characters, particularly the love interests. The first time you really start interacting with them, the game is quick to remind you that at its core it’s still an otome game and some version of romance is very much on the table. These characters are delightful. Horrifying, but delightful.”
Galaxy Raven on Itch.io – “Oh my goodness, I’ve been following this since it was announced and the demo is so good! I am intrigued by all of the characters and the setting (though Tristin is baby!)! The VA is perfect and the art and writing are A+! Look forward to the full game, but wow this demo is great!”
Sandpixie on Itch.io – “oh my gosh the forest scene in the intro is so spooky I love it and Nyarbalte’s voice is amazing! so far Brenton and Eris are my favs ❤ looking forward to more!!”
Enfenim on Itch.io – “The voice acting in this is phenomenal! It is clear there has been a lot of work put into this. The characters are all equally well written, the sprites are great and the story pulled me in quickly. So far my favorites are Tristan, Eris and Seta. I look forward to the full game! 🙂”
